Eleuthera, Bahamas
The Colors of Eleuthera

Eleuthera - remote Bahamas isle,
Long and narrow, more than one hundred miles.
Island known for pirates, blue waters and rum,
Settled by brave group searching for freedom.
White churches dot route of the Queen’s Highway,
Brown pelicans with large bills dive bomb their prey.
Burnt orange flowers on Poinciana trees explode,
Pink sand of French Leave Beach at end of dirt road.
The color most dominant with all its hues,
Has to be the different shades of blues.
The ocean waters are cobalt and sapphire,
Navy and turquoise, a sea to admire.
An island of raw beauty and colors that trigger emotion,
Eleuthera is abundance, most reflected in its Blue Ocean.
