A village south of Barcelona, Spain.

Sitges, medieval beauty far from mundane.

Walk and walk along smooth cobblestone streets,

Maricel, where the sea and heaven meets. 

 

Plagues and wars part of its history, 

Artists and writers created mystery.

Santiago Rusiñol’s works gained lore,

Cau Ferrat, his workshop above the shore.

 

The 17th century church of stone,

Whose bells ring by the sea with a strong tone.

Sitges sailed to New World for wealth and fame,

Bacardi and his rum became household name.

 

Art, buildings and beaches are beautiful, I do declare, 

Where all is touched by the Mediterranean salt air.
