Harmonica in pocket, college could wait,
Playing the streets of Madrid, testing his fate.
Returned to Cornell as an engineer,
Music called, school only lasted a year.

 

Taking his name from a Welch named Lew,
Beat poet, friend of Kerouac, who knew?
Big break in L.A. with Brit Nick Lowe,
Recognized for his voice and Blue Eyed Soul.

 

Huey created magic with the News,
Shooting videos at the beach in Santa Cruz.
"The Power of Love" and Marty McFly,
The band's success, difficult to deny.

 

He now lives on a ranch, the man who 'used to be a renegade',
Still touring and writing - golfing and fishing, truly self-made.
