Will You Hear the Bells?

Will you hear the bells on your walk through life?

In youth, first experiencing joy and strife.

Sound of the bells is faint, time seems our friend,

Living day by day, not thinking of the end. 

 

Everyday around the world the bells chime,

From church towers marking passage of time.

Family and struggle come with manhood,

The bells may be louder, at least they should. 

 

Will you hear the bells ring in your old age, 

Wisdom and knowledge, part of final stage.

Since the beginning, church bells sing like God’s voice,

Will you hear the bells, now it is your choice. 

 

There are a finite number of bells before our final call,

Will you hear the bells, hear something else, or nothing at all?
